Big
Issue Lists

in both the practical and very personal parts of their lives. Half the
revenue generated by this website goes to The Big Issue to help people
who are homeless. A truly social enterprise. |

recognised brand in the UK. As well as enjoying a resurgence in sales,

Oxfam
Oxfam is a development, relief and campaigning
organisation, founded over sixty years ago to help overcome poverty and
suffering. Today, there are millions of people living in poverty across
the world. Each and every day is a struggle for survival. Oxfam works in
over 70 countries worldwide, helping people to work their own way out of
poverty. We believe that everyone is entitled to a life of dignity and
opportunity and we work with poor communities, local partner
organisations, volunteers and supporters to make this a reality. Through
this work, many thousands of families are working their own way out of
poverty – by building wells to access clean safe water, enabling
children to gain access to education or growing crops to ensure an
adequate food supply. We rely upon public donations and your support
will help us continue our vital work with the world’s poorest people.
The money we receive really can make the difference between life and
death. |
Sight
Savers International

world's poorest countries, restoring sight and giving hope to many
adults and children who are needlessly blind. |
World
Vision
In some developing countries poverty kills 1 in 3
children in their infancy. World Vision, one of the world’s leading
relief and development agencies is working to help stop this through
their Child Sponsorship programme. Becoming a Child Sponsor is a
meaningful and rewarding experience for both the child and the sponsor.
Not only does your support provide the essentials a child needs to
survive such as clean water, basic healthcare and enough food, but also
an education to try to break the cycle of poverty. The direct
relationship you have with your sponsored child, through letters and
cards will also give them hope through the knowledge that someone cares.
But without Child Sponsors this simply won’t happen. Make a difference
and sponsor a child now from as little as 60p a day, the cost of a can
of soft drink. |

elephants, pandas, rhinos and orang utans? If you do, or know someone
who does, adopt an animal and help to safeguard the future of the
species with WWF. |
